Happiness is a Lake
North of the city
I escape the routine
Kayuta is a small lake
with two small islands
like freckles
you can run between them
it is that shallow
the woods are pristine
the air is pure
the sky crystal blue
late at night you can count
the stars
back to nature
back to the days of innocence
when the swim team was
your biggest challenge
and waterskiing barefoot
your biggest thrill!

Happiness is what life is all about
Although it seems like many people often go without
They fill their lives with stress
Some people just float through life,
They're like that one unsharpened knife.
Just sitting there in the back of the drawer,
Happiness
It is a visitor
Never stays long
It can captured in a
Word or in a song
It can linger momentarily
Only to disappear
