I held you still pink and screaming from the womb
Precious little features, burnt in my memory for good
Years have passed, the dolls tucked away
Now it all about boys and when you want to move away
I hold you tight when you are asleep
I whisper my dreams and wishes to my growing love
We laugh and joke, but on a different wave
I will cry when it's over as an adult you will be
But to look in your face, I see just a mirror
I never noticed before, but you are just like me

Just like me

I see it in
The way you move
It the way to speak
You are mine
I will love you
Giving you all I am
For you
I held you still pink and screaming from the womb
Precious little features, burnt in my memory for good
