Manners are at thing of the past
Being the boss, the leader, the loudmouth has taken over
No more opening doors for the ladies
No more saying hi to a stranger on the street
Life has turned us back to animals or a beast
True love doesn't last, vows are all broken
Kids of today do not listen to the elders
Shivery of the knight in shinning armor has been buried away
Marriage is in half, and shacking up it the new thing
But in my dreams I still live on that plain
Where a man is a gentleman and want to hold hands
Who walks me to the door to make sure I'm safe
To lightly kiss my hand instead of a barbarian embrace
To stay in slumber is the only real thing
To make manners come alive, to bring happiness and peace
