I have come across loads of people with tattoos. TATTOOS HURT! OUCH! This is the truth. So why do so many people, day after day go out and get one, and then of course there are those that are addicted to doing more and more bodily harm to themselves, by getting more and more tattoos, till they have no identity left. This to the common person on the street is really silly. Some people are so addicted to getting tattoos that they virtually tattoo their whole body. Who is the general public to judge though; it is their body.
I, personally do not see a need to get a tattoo, except maybe a cute little rose on my ankle which can look really sexy. Tattoos can be sexy. Guys think about that cute little girl you saw in the club last week with that butterfly tattoo on her chest (of course close to her breast). Men would go wild for something like that, and girls think of that handsome guy you saw walking down the shopping mall with that eagle tattoo on his biceps. Many people would like to find a mate with a tattoo, and this can be a really sexy thing to have to attract the opposite sex.
Tattoos can also be personal, and many people would get a tattoo after they fall in love with someone, or even tattoo the names of their children on their bodies. They can also tattoo the face of children on their bodies. This symbolises the love that they have for that person, and everyone has their own ways of expressing love. This can be a very sweet thing to do, but when a lover ditches the tattoo boyfriend or girlfriend the tattoo junkie is now left with an imprint of pain on his/her body. This can hurt emotionally as well. Some people may think that this is a weird way of expressing love, but many people do go out and tattoo themselves to symbolize love.
Tattoos also are a fashion statement. The latest designer clothes are a fashionable item, and some people also see tattoos as a fashionable and cool item. Ever seen that guy you work with proudly take his shirt off and show you his dragon tattoo on his back that he is still working on? He likes the comments that he gets from people and most of the time people think that it is the coolest thing ever. Some onlookers will look out in horror, and ask him how the pain was. Tattoos do hurt a lot, but some people are also addicted to the pain, and then the compliments that they get after having them. Taking pain also makes them look strong on the inside.
