Poetry: Living fully

Heaven's Gate

Whether,
Deep in earth's ground
Or in breaths air
In deep water
doesn't matter
Here,
Lies truth found

Drink the strong wine
Growing on life's vine
Breathe deeply the air
Let wind stir soul's hair
Eat hungrily the meat
Quickening each heartbeat
Fish deeply the blue sea
And in each gift only be

How many lively heartbeats
quick minds thinking deep
longingly or suddenly stopped?
So many people we think
death took with a wink
before even a chance to blink.
So blink but also choose to think
About all that you've been given
Before you open the next door
you think reveals all of heaven.
