Poetry: My pain

by Dawna Dees

Created on: May 23, 2009

The phone rang.

The message was shocking.

This has to be a joke.

Not funny. Stop it. It's true, go check.

I will, wait here.

I checked.....

They are playing a trick.

They must be asleep, or pretending to be.

This is scary, I hate if they jump and shout Boo!

When will it happen?

"Guy's stop playing!".

"What are ya'll doing?"

I walk up slowly, and put my hand on his leg.

I shake him him to wake.

Then I look up to his face.

What's that in the back, some stuff in his hair.

No, it's not.

It's RedruM.

Step over the other, took off with a run!

What happened?

Why here?

Why them?

Why me?

It's cold, freezing now.

I'm going crazy, I can not think right.

I want to forget, but I don't.

I won't.
