You should strive to maintain a healthy weight for yourself not someone else. It is not necessarily healthy to be bone thin. Some people that are are thin also deal with high cholesterol and other health issues. As far as relationships go a lot of pressure has especially been put on women in society to stay thin or become thin. Couples go through a lot of changes in general as time goes by sometimes physically and with different needs that they may have.
Commercials show diets with women and their success stories as if maintaining a small frame is the answer to all of their problems. If a relationship is successful soley because both parties are thin then they are living superficially in this relationship. Will the relationship start to dissolve also when one or the other starts to age faster.
We see waif like models on television and in magazines and the kids want to model themselves after these people and make themselves sick from not maintaining a healthy diet to get that thin. Kids are also bullied about weight which can cause a lasting problem of mental pain for them.
On the flip side, eating healthy and excercising regularily is a good thing and a goal of trying to simply maintain a health weight.is a good thing. As far as relationships go usually the attraction starts with a desire to be around someone that you find physically appealing. This seems to be more of the case with men than women. Women go for the looks in a male when they are younger and later on in life personality becomes a bigger issue with them and how that person makes them feel. It also seems that in most cases women are a lot more forgiving in the changes that the male goes through in a relationship. In most cases on themselves females are critical they are constantly dieting trying to achieve an image of what society expects them to look like. Men tend to look in the mirror and see the reflection of a perfectly fit guy at any weight or age.
Whether the woman is critical on her guy or the other way around there isn't much substance in the relationship if it fizzles because of the weight issue., There will always be someone out there thinner or more fit so it will be an impossible and useless mission to try to be someone that your not..
People do look better at their ideal weight for their height. Clothes are easier to find and outfits hang nicer on the body that's pretty much common sense. Some people start a relationship where one or the other is more weight
