Paris Hilton never had to climb the ranks as a struggling actress. She never had to sing at open mics or solicit music executives in search of a record deal. There are no commericals, music videos, or movie clips of the heiress before she was famous. Miss Hilton was given her fortune and fame just as easily as she was given her surname. She was Paris Hilton from birth.

As such, the twenty-five year old is often in control of her media coverage and public representation. Her public relations representative, Elliot Mintz, can frequently be seen in pictures and videos of Miss Hilton, shadowing close behind his client in order to avoid any unfavorable media coverage. When Hilton was videotaped outside of a club smoking what appeared to be marijuana, Mintz was quick to approach photographers and announce:

"I just want to get something clear with you. Paris Hilton rolled her own tobacco cigarette. It was tobacco that you saw."

Several months later, Hilton was photographed at a fashion show with a plastic baggy of a green, leafy substance in her purse. Mintz stated that it was "not what it appeared to be." And when the heiress was videotaped with Brandon Davis, laughing hysterically as he referred to Lindsay Lohan as a "firecrotch" for the paparazzi, Mintz advised his client to hold her cellphone to her ear and pretend to be otherwise occupied.

Hilton, armed with a gaggle of lawyers and public relations staff, has a love and hate relationship with the media. She would not be a household name if it weren't for Page Six, and she would not have a perfume, tv show, or cd, if it weren't for shamless promotion in Star Magazine and US Weekly.

Gossip blogs are often the best source for the lastest Hilton gossip. Why? Because they don't care if she sells perfume, they don't care if she appears in the style section of a publication, and because the authors of these often vicious blogs will probably never meet, much less interview, the bird-beaked blonde. Gossip blogs such as pinkisthenewblog.com, tmz.com, hollywoodtuna.com, popsugar.com, or our friends across the pond, the UK's femalefirst.co.uk, often have unflattering Hilton pictures that will never be printed, or stories of Miss Hilton's drug-fueled or racist behavior, which can not be authenticated enough to get past her legal staff.

Although blogs are the best source for gossip on the sex tape celebutante, some blogs have allegedly been "bought off" by Hilton. One of such gossip sites is allegedly perezhilton.com.
