MANDY
I remember when you first came to me so tiny in my arms
You were snuggled safely in your blanket.
I held you in my arms on the ride home
I kept starring into your eyes, your big blue eyes.
I held you close while you fell asleep
I watched you grow day by day.it only seems like yesterday.
I remember when I was sad you jumped up in bed
With me and held me close until I fell asleep.
I remember when you protected me from the flailing arms
Coming at me with fierce hatredyou jumped on my lap
Your whole body guarding me.
You were always loyal and faithful my protecting girl
I miss you so much.
When you were thirteen I had to put you down
I held you close until you fell asleep.

On the worn-out carpet
In the hallway
And listen
While she'd play
Masterpiece after masterpiece
