Petroleum jelly is the one product that you get the bang for your buck. It's $1 at drug stores; nothing can beat that price. Not only is it cheap but it has tons of uses. Petroleum jelly is one of my favorite beauty products and hopefully you'll find it to be one of your as well. I'm going to give you a list of tips on what to use petroleum jelly for. I'm also going to give a list of things NOT to do with petroleum jelly.
My 20 Uses-
1) Moisturizer- This works wonders on your skin. Moisturizes wonderfully.
2) Lip Moisturizer- Just use it plain and you'll get super soft lips.
3) Facial Night Serum- No more dry skin for applying makeup. Just make sure you wash it off before applying makeup.
4) Shiny Full Eyelashes- They will promote healthy eyelash growth and it'll make them shiny too.
5) Nail Moisturizer- Don't bother with expensive nail serums. Petroleum jelly will moisturize your nails better than anything else.
6) Lip Scrub- Mix some petroleum jelly with any sugar. This will make a lip scrub that'll remove dead skin cells and make lips silky smooth.
7) Lip Gloss Base- Great for making lip glosses. Helium has a lip gloss making section; you can read it to find out how to make a petroleum jelly lip gloss.
8) Body Scrubs- When mixed with something grainy it'll remove dead skin cells leaving skin silky smooth. Add a scent to it too if it makes it more appealing.
9) Removing Gum From Hair- Only if you don't have peanut butter though. Petroleum jelly will do the job better than peanut butter but it'll make that section of hair greasy for a while.
10) Shining Shoes- If you don't have shoes shine use petroleum jelly. I use this all the time at work. I wear mens shoes and I know it works like a charm.
11) Scar Remover- It helps remove scars. Only with consistent use though.
12) Moisturizing Pets Paws- My pug gets chapped paws. I put petroleum jelly on his paws three times a week. His paws are smooth as a baby's bottom.
13) Helps Heal Scabs- It'll smooth them out faster and help to gt rid of them faster.
14) Shine Scratched Glass- It fills in the holes well and will remove any dirt.
15) It Soothes Ingrown Hairs- It'll bring down puffiness and make it hurt less.
16) Smooth Calluses- It'll smooth calluses.
17) Helps Prevent Hang Nails- Works like a charm.
18) Helps Repair Little Trees- Sounds weird but we have mini trees in our house. But we also have a cat. She scratched one up and I put petroleum jelly on the scratches and It helped it heal faster( I know I'm weird).
19) Fix A Squeaky Hinge- It'll take the squeak away.
20) Use On Children- It moisturizes them too without harmful chemicals.
3 Things you should NOT use petroleum jelly for-
1) DON'T UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE PUT PETROLEUM JELLY IN YOUR HAIR- Unless you want to look like a grease head for 2 months I wouldn't do this. Whoever wrote that had no idea what it does to your hair. Petroleum jelly is water resistant! It won't come out. My aunt did this and it took 2 months to come out. It was so bad she had to use a wig. So just don't do it!
Quick Tip- If you get petroleum jelly in your hair cover your hair with baby powder. It'll soak up the jelly. And make it easier to remove.
2) Don't try to shine a CD with it- You'll just make matters worse.
3) Don't shine windows with it- It'll collect more dirt ad it won't look pretty.
I hope you found this helpful. Good Luck finding better reasons to use petroleum jelly.
