Is the United States facing a recession or depression? Of course it is. In fact we are well on our way to a devastating, nation-destroying depression. The foundatiopn has been set in place with the unprecedented spending of the Obama Administration and Congress, and there doesn't seem to be any turning back from the brink of disaster. It may take a few years where we Americans will feel that we are suffering a true depression, but this will not be the case at all. It will merely be the first symtoms that we are suffering. The full impact of the fatal blow our country has suffered won't be in full evidence probably, until our children are called upon to shoulder the burden of crushing taxes and debt that has been inflicted upon the body of a once proud, independent and free society who lead the world in greatness.

What follows is not a prophetic enumeration of events to come in this downward spiral, but a closer look of what is happening right now and how these things came about. It is hoped that understanding what has already happened, and is happening all over the nation today, will somehow help those of us who have the ability to still control our future and can prepare some for what is to come.

This interactive map of the United States gives a story of the as yet mild to middlin' repression we are in. Of course it is my contention this whole thing would not have been half as bad if the federal government had not gotten involved and piled unconscionable debt on generations yet to come. When Secretary of the Treasury, Paulson, and President Bush called on the Congress to give the financial industry and Wall Street huge sums of money for exercising bad business practices, it was the beginning of this downward spiral.

Both Presidential candidates voted for this huge Bail Out bill by the way. Both Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama were convinced it had to be done while economist all over the country were saying otherwise and while the White House and Capitol switch boards and even the Internet systems were overwhelmed with voters calling and casting their vote 90% against the Bail Out.

That many of the banks who took the Bail Out 2008-09 money are now trying to give it back (which Obama's administration for some unknown reason of their own will not allow them to do by the way) proves to me that they
