HOW AND WHY SATAN TORMENTS PEOPLE

Satan torments people because that is who he is! Satan does not want to see the Lord being glorified; after all, Satan has always wanted to be equal with God. Before we were born into this New Life as a Christian, we were serving Satan. He is the Prince of Darkness. He does not want to see us worshiping the Lord or serving the Lord. Satan is well aware that he does not have the power that Christ has. He knows that he cannot steal our salvation away from us, therefore, he tries his best to keep us from serving the Lord. He holds us back and holds us down by robbing us of our joy and usefulness for the Lord.

Satan can and will oppress and depress us causing us to feel we are not worthy to serve the Lord, or even sometimes to live. Sometimes we think we are ugly, unloved, or not good enough! As a child of God, we look just as He designed us to look. Okay, maybe our teeth aren't perfect, and our weight is not what it used to be. But is that what is important in the whole picture? What is on your list? What are you struggling with today? Have you been beating yourself up lately? We all do from time to time. Recognize who this is coming from. It is not coming from God. John 8:32 reminds us.And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Don't let Satan steal away your love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness or faith which hinders your service to the Lord.

We must keep our eyes on the Lord, submitting to His will, enjoying what He gives us daily. Do not allow Satan to put wrong thoughts into your imaginations. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

As a child of God, we are promised to have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10b). We were made by God to glorify Him in all we say and do. The moment we receive the Lord as our personal Saviour, we are indwelled by the Holy Spirit of God enabling us to live a fruitful life for the Lord. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17).
