For example, if you want to tell people on how to maintain their health, then you can simply choose a free service and start writing. If your free service is not able to handle the size, then you can transfer to a paid service. But it is absolutely practical to start up with a free service for a text based information site.

In conclusion, whether a free hosting service is practical for your business or not, depends on the type of website you want to create. If you are going to sell products online or provide a service online, then people prefer that a paid company hosts your site. But in some cases (the ones stated above), a free website is the only practical solution. Save your money, and host your site for free! You will not lose out on too many features.
