I like to wear make-up and I do wear make-up, but pretty much only when I go to work. When I have a day off from work, and I'm not really in the public eye, I don't feel like I need to. Even though I think I look kind of horrible without it, I still don't put it on when I go out. Sometimes I don't' even want to put it on if I had the day off and am going out later. This seems a little strange to me. I don't' know why I do that.
Why wear make-up? Well I think it's because it makes us feel better about ourselves. I know I do. When I have my make-up on, I feel more confident, even though I know I'm the exact same person without it on. People still treat me the same.
Some women really truly feel like they have to wear there make-up before they go out. Some say they act different with it on than without it. I guess in a way I can kind of relate to what they are saying. Some women are so self-conscious about their looks, they just feel like they can't go out without their make-up.
Some of the reasons why some women feel they have to wear their make-up. They may feel like they have skin problems, bad skin. One example could be they feel they have acne, and don't want to show it off to the world, or someone said something mean about it and now they wouldn't get caught dead without it. And sometimes others say they can't see a thing. It just might be in their head because they are so self-conscious. Again, I can relate to this. I don't have acne, but I am very self-conscious about the dark circles under my eyes. When I go out in public without my make-up, I feel like the whole world is staring at my dark circles. Or they think that I am ill. Even though I really know that they aren't. Just my mind playing tricks on me.
Another reason why some women feel they have to wear their make-up is that they feel a different age. If it's older or younger. The women who want to look older wear it so they can feel more sophisticated and important. The women who want to look younger wear it so they can hide the wrinkles and dark spots. Each woman has there own reasons why they feel like they need to wear-up. But whatever the reasons might be, we wear it because we want to. We wear it because we want to feel our very best and make-up does that for us. Besides, isn't that the reason why they make it? And that is why we buy it.
So next time you are debating if you should put your make-up on or not. Don't do it for anyone else but yourself. If you don't want to wear it, don't, plain and simple.
