*Are you there?*
Searching for a feeling
Seeking affirmation,
A form or a face
If you are in the wind,
Let me feel your touch
If you are in my thoughts,
Give me a sound mind
If you are in my heart,
Help it to love and forgive
If those are your footprints walking beside me,
Why can't I feel your presence?
Are you there?
If you are in my spirit,
Give me strength to live and endure
If you are in my soul,
Give me purpose and contentment
If you hear prayer after prayer
From these tattered knees,
Why haven't you answered?
Are you there?
Am I at fault?
Have I let you in?
Or doubted your existence?
-Neither-
How do you trust a feeling?
If your blood is a healing crimson flow
Let it cleanse me of all doubts
Seeking affirmation,
A form or a face
Are you there, Lord?
Are you there?

they never will be, I fear.
To be able to know,
right here
She fell without warning-
on all that is righteous
Her mind, her heart, leans to the left
Not good enough for what is lacking
Are you there, my lord, savior?
How am I to know for sure?
Show me a sign
Lead the way
I'm not so sure right now
I think I'm
