A Guide to the Best Baby Shower Games
A baby shower is a great way to celebrate the upcoming of a new life. A baby shower consists of lots of food, fun, and fellowship. The games are the highlight of the shower so they must be both fun and entertaining. Here's a guide of games that will definitely keep your guests entertained.
1. What do you know? This is a trivia game which is played by asking questions about the parents to-be and the new addition to the family. Common questions include the following:
What is the mother's middle name?
What is the baby's name going to be?
Is the baby a boy or a girl?
Where were the parents to-be born at?
How did the couple meet?
What does the baby's name mean?
What is the baby's due date?
What is the mother's favorite color?
What food does the mother to-be crave the most?
How old is the mother to-be?
2. Don't say baby game The goal of this game is to end up with the most safety pins at the end of the game. Each participant is given five safety pins to pin on themselves at the start of the game. Every time a person says the word baby, they have to give one of their safety pins to the person who caught them. This game lasts the entire length of the baby shower and is a very challenging game. It's hard not to say the word baby at a baby shower.
3. Baby Words Unscramble With this game, each person is given a list of words that relate to a baby's needs that are all scrambled up. The person who correctly unscrambles the most words within two to three minutes wins the game. The most commonly used words include:
diaper
bottle
pacifier
bib
formula
teddy bear
nipple
blanket
onesie
rattle
lotion
powder
booties
4. Baby Animals With this game, each person is given a list of animals and is asked to write the correct name fore each animal's offspring. Commonly used animals are:
Cat
Dog
Cow
Sheep
Goat
Chicken
Lion
5. How big is my belly? This is an interesting game that challenges your estimating skills. Each person is asked to unravel toilet tissue and tear off squares that amount to the circumference of the mother-to-be's belly. The person who guesses closest to the amount of squares that it would takes to completely surround the mom from her back to her belly wins the game.
6. Candy Jar The goal of this game is to guess how many pieces of candy are in the jar. Usually an empty jar is filled with M&M's, Skittles, or another small round candy. Each piece is counted before it is placed in the jar. To play the game, you ask each person to write down there guess and their name on a piece of paper and fold it up and put it into some sort of container (a box or a bag). After you have collected all of the guesses, you then go through and see who got the closest to the correct amount without going over that number. If you have a tie, then you can use a trivia question, such as What is the mother-to-be's favorite candy? Keep asking questions until a winner is chosen.
