My dream job, would be a job I could do at home, and make loads of money. That does sound like a dream doesn't it? I know dreams can come true, and I keep trying for this dream, but so far I have failed miserably.
I tried the flea market business, with my mother-in-law. She has done this for years, while working a full-time job. She can make three hundred dollars a day. The most I ever made was a hundred dollars, at one show. I had plenty of time to work on my crafts, this was my stay at home venture, then go and sell them at fairs, and flea markets. No one seemed to want my handmade crafts, and I ended up spending more to make the crafts, than I earned selling them.
I tried dog grooming, when my children were younger, so I could work at home with them. I had a few regular customers, mostly my neighbors, but it was not steady enough to make any real money.
I finally gave up, and found a factory job. I assembled venetian blinds, this was fun, and was a lot like my craft hobby. I thought this could be my dream job! I like the work, I'm good at the work, and the other workers are nice and friendly. So I planned to give up the stay at home idea, and continue this job until retirement. I worked there for three years, and the factory had a lay-off, so now I am unemployed, and thinking my dream job, may just be working from home after all.
I did plant a large garden this year, hoping I can save some money by harvesting the vegetables in my garden, and freezing them. Everyday I go outside and work in my garden, pulling weeds, and keeping the nasty bugs out. I am having fun, but still not earning the almighty dollars, I would like to have for my future.
So I am currently writing my heart out, taking surveys, entering contests and sweepstakes, and praying everyday that I will win the lottery, so I can retire! Because of the economy and my lay-off, I will need to win the lottery to even be able to retire! I am probably looking at Wal-Mart door greeter, as my next job. I probably will not be able to retire, until I am at least seventy years old, maybe eighty! But at the age of forty-eight years old, retirement is sounding very good these days.
Dream job is still just a dream. Will it ever become reality? I guess only time will tell, my main plan is to never give up on my dreams! Because I believe that the harder I try to make my dreams come true, the greater the reward, when I finally achieve my goals.
