There are a few ways you can enhance a web blog. Using the blog options available, or alternatively in relation to the content itself.
Make use of the formatting options that are available for blogs. These can be, for example, bold, italics or underline text. They are good to include within a blog post. Consider using bold or italics to add emphasis, and underline for headings used. You might consider changing the font as well if required, although Times New Roman is fine for most blog posts.
Video can also be added to a blog. This can enhance a blog if used appropriately, but then if not the reverse can be the case.
Then you can also add pictures to blogs. Either your own, or via other sources. Just do not add too many, and it is better to use slightly smaller ones.
When making a blog entry, try to keep the entry brisk and to the point. Try and avoid very long blog entries. Shorter blog entries are better.
Make sure you use spell check with your posts as well. This is to double-check the accuracy of any blog entry made.
If you receive any appropriate blog comments or feedback, then best respond to them. After all, the more traffic you receive the better.
At any rate, there is also scope for further blog customisation with providers like Word Press and Blogspot. Consider making use of these blog customisation features, to add banners and feeds for example.
Word Press actually has widgets that can be added to the blogs. These are add-ons, which can actually enhance the design. By selecting the widget options, you can add available widgets to the blog. As an example, text widgets can be added to your blog, for all blog pages. You can also add calendar and search widgets to Word Press blogs.
You might also consider adding a blog counter to the blog. Essentially, these track traffic and display as a counter. The no of hits for your blog is tallied. To add a counter usually requires adding a small snippet of code provided from a counter source.
Using links can also enhance a blog. However, banner links are actually better to use and are more decorative. For example, Helium has a good number of banners, which link to the site, that can be used and added to a blog or blog post.
So overall, the increasing flexibility of blogs like Wordpress and Blogspot, ensures that their blogs can be enhanced in a variety of ways. However, the content will always remain most important.
