Poetry: Survivors

IN THE DARK

Hurricanes storm the West,
Tornadoes come from the South.
The invaders came from the skies
And in the East the towers fell.

But from the North, a mighty star;
Shining from the heavens for the entire world to see.
A beacon of Light, a glimmer of hope,
Radiating Love for you and for me.

Under the rubble, beneath the debris,
A man cries out and no one sees
His voice is heard by only one, and in the dark.
God cries, "MY Son?"

Fear not my child.
For I am here, to bring you home,
Where all shall hear
That in despair, God is there.

There he walked from the tomb of death.
Into the world that has no rest.
Out of the darkness and into the light,
He can only say, "I am all right."
