Foods We Think Are Healthy But They're Not

Being a member of the population of people who suffer from obesity, there is nothing worse than thinking you are eating healthy and whammo out the window that goes.

Most of us who have struggled with weight gain or just needed to lose that few pounds have looked into trying to find foods that are healthy for us. With marketing as it is of course some person who makes their living on commission has decided to sell the idea that certain foods have what we need to both satisfy our daily needs as well as keep us from being overweight. With sorrow it must be said that most of it is hogwash.

Let us look at just a few, ten to be exact. Number one being the most important meal of the day the good old cereal that probably gets quite of bit of time in commercial land, not including the ones we do not even have to guess like Capt. Crunch with Berries or my favorite Cocoa Puffs. Let us look at All Bran.

Must be healthy, it is ALL BRAN from Kelloggs right? Decide for yourself. One cup of cereal, (who eats 1cup) without milk, is 170 calories. With 240 grams of sodium, 44 grams of carbohydrates ( turn to sugars ) and 10 grams of sugar plus another 24 grams of other carbohydrates, not to mention total fat 65 grams and 300 grams of cholesterol.

Just a reminder you will be hungry before lunch so it is safe to say you brought that granola bar to tide you over right? Do not even unwrap it. Although granola and oats are awesome and are good for you, the stuff they use to glue them things together is nothing but sugar and just for kicks they threw in some chocolate chips. Sorry, but far from finished is this informative but helpful article.

Friend, you think maybe a little tuna salad on wheat bread for lunch, how can you go wrong? It is amazing the fat in mayonnaise as well as the carbohydrates in even wheat bread that we are told is better for us. Eat the tuna out of the can that is about the only safe and healthy way to do it.

Next is that wonderful fat free yogurt with fruit on the bottom, put down your spoon the fruit alone has so much sugar in it that your pancreas will hold debates on whether you are a diabetic or not.

How about frozen yogurt? You do not even want to know.

If you eat fast food salads to avoid eating that greasy hamburger just go ahead and get the Hamburger. Yep, the sugars alone just to preserve the lettuce and the dressing and the croutons make that burger healthier choice.

How about a bottle of 100%
