The dream was over in 1970, "The Beatles," the greatest rock and roll band of all time finally went their separate ways in the first year of a new decade. What would have happened if "The Beatles" would have stayed together? Would they have brought an end to the Vietnam War?
Unfortunately we will never now what would have happened if John, Paul, George, and Ringo would have stayed together. Their last album to be released was none other than "Let It Be". Anybody who saw the movie could see how the worlds greatest rock band was falling apart, at the seems.
During the making of the film they had a ton of songs that they had written, but did not record. After the break up, John went on to record "The Plastic Ono Band Album". George's fantastic triple album, "All Things Must Pass," Paul released his Mc Cartney album, and Ringo his "Sentimental Journey" album.
I think that if "The Beatles" would have stayed together and made anther album, the following songs would have been on the record.
1) John's, "Instant Karma", his first single after "The Beatles" broke up. I think that this is one of his best songs after "The Beatles." It came out in 1970. This song is one of my favorite songs that John wrote. In my opinion, this track would have made it's way on the the next album.
2) John's "Imagine," what has to be his best known and loved, solo record, anther great song of John's. I think that this was what he really wanted to say to the world. "Living life in peace." I also think that John was saying Imagine if there was no heaven.
3) My third choice would have to be, Georges, "My Sweet Lord." This song was his first single after the break up. George was the first solo ex- Beatle to have a number one single. I think that this is one of Georges greatest accomplishments, after living behind John and Paul's shadows for several years.
4) At number four I think I would have to pick anther track of John's the beautiful ballad "Love." This song says it all about the title. Anther one of my favorite Lennon classics. I love the piano and the acoustic guitar on this track. I also would call this John's own personal "Yesterday."
"Love", just like "Yesterday," there was no way that this song could have drums played on it. A very fragile song. This song should have been placed on the new album.
5) Paul's song about his first wife Linda, "Maybe I"m Amazed." I think that this song would have been worthy of a spot on the album.
Some honorable mentions that I have to list, Georges, "Behind That Locked Door", "Is n"t A Pity", "All Things Must Pass", and "Apple Scruff's" In my opinion, I think all of these songs that I would have talked about, would have made a fine single album for "The Beatles" to release if they had stayed together.
To bad it all had to end in 1970, but for me, and all "Beatles" fans, the dream will never be over.
