Come on doown, Recovery from substance addiction could be yours if the price is right.
As I write this solemn confession, my mind's eye drift far back along the time line of my experience to the peak of my adolescence, my entrance into adulthood. At the time I was 18 I had established myself at my high-school as the unquestionable authority on heavy LSD, extasy, amphetamine and all sorts of synthetic drug usage. That rep was well justified, I must admit, and it continued escalating for the next 4-5 years, which my family prefers to not mention to this day.
I, however, have no difficulty recalling my story. I consider those substance-saturated times an undeniable element of the individual which I have become - the same one writing these words, someone I'm very proud to be. At the age of 30 I have a bachelor degree in Computer Science, excel in web-based solutions development, and there's rarely anyone who considers a conversation with me "time wasted". But everything in life has its corresponding price that must be paid in order to attain the benefit of the object purchased. Luckily for me, I'd guess-timated the right price to bid, for my salvation.
The cost of my recovery from substance abuse was careless comfortable irresponsible existance. That's right! Please excuse me if I've disappointed your expectations. That which many can't accomplish their whole life with countless medication and brainwashing treatments, I can proudly acclaim to have done through self assessment and re-evaluation of my priorities.
More specifically, and in a nutshell - here's overview, cheat-sheet if you will, into self-sustained substance recovery: Even though it's undeniable that every single person who's used some drug or the other has began because of the exotic atmosphere brought about by the substance, not every single person ends up addicted and on the path to self destruction. While a fortunate few end up thinking of drugs as simply an expensive means to a belligerent pastime, most actually end up justifying steady consumption with the supposition that it is the only road to a reality more appealing, less intimidating, what-have-you, than the one which awaits them without it.
It is not so! As a matter of fact, the only sufficient recovery tactic is the realization that reality could be as much under your control as you're willing to become able to control it. Here's a viewpoint you don't hear often: the very act of consuming a substance to improve your over-all state
