My top five beauty products

As a beauty professional with over a decade of experience, I have tried thousands of products for hair, skin, and nails. I've had the privilege of trying out many great and wonderful products, on myself as well as my clients, and naturally I have some favorites which I consider to be indispensable. Here are the five products which no woman should be without:

1. Bumble & bumble Styling Creme. This one product will replace dozens of haircare products cluttering up your bathroom closet. On damp hair, it can be used in place of a mousse or gel. It provides hold, adds volume, and thickens the hair; all without feeling stiff or sticky. It also has a very light fragrance, which makes it great for men as well as women. Bumble & bumble Styling Creme can also be applied to dry hair in order to slick down stray hairs, cowlicks, and frizz. I consider this product an entire beauty salon in a bottle.

2. Queen Helene Mint Julep Facial Scrub. I never used to be a morning person, until I started using this exfoliating scrub about five years ago. The mint fragrance invigorates and refreshens, and the scrub gently exfoliates leaving skin unbelievably smooth and glowing. Best of all, it's a fraction of the price of other professional exfoliants.

3. Alterna Hemp Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. Hands down, the best-smelling shampoo and conditioner on the market. It is also one of the best shampoos available for preserving the vibrancy of color-treated hair. These sulfate-free products are formulated with hemp and other organic ingredients to turn lackluster hair into shiny hair, but it is the sweet citrus smell that will have you hooked.

4. Tweezerman Slant Tweezers. Think all tweezers are created equal? Think again! Toss out those cheap drugstore tweezers and invest in the best. Tweezerman tweezers are able to grab onto the finest and shortest hairs, allowing you to pluck the perfectly arched eyebrow. These tweezers are also great for removing splinters, as well as hundreds of other household chores. These tweezers work so well that I keep a pair in my car, my fishing tackle box, and of course, my bathroom.

5. Lubriderm. I've tried out hundreds of lotions and moisturizers in my career, some of which that cost over 75.00 an ounce! However, Lubriderm does as good a job of moisturizing the skin as any product on the market. This lotion is lightly fragranced and doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy, and it is one of the few products that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. It is also extremely economical: eight bucks will get you about twenty ounces!
