Planning your high school years to maximize college choices

High school graduation is like a milestone in the life of an individual. But stop and rewind because you are about to receive your one way ticket to hell or to put it in simplistic terms; college. Now college doesn't have to be hell, at the same time, it isn't heaven either; because your success in the job market is contigent upon how well you play the game in college. There is the possibility of speeding up that game, by let's say perhaps, graduating from college early. This is where you'll have to plan ahead of time while in high school, you know making use of concurrent enrollment opportunities, while also preparing for AP Exams and passing them with a three or higher.

Any potheads or cokeheads out there? Well if so, I hope your pea-sized high school brains are able to absorb this word of advice. Discard the drugs and face the rigors of life because if you don't, ultimately it will bite you on the rear. I'll officially become a college graduate after this weekend and I'm beginning to feel very biased about whether I could've avoided taking specific classes before enrolling in college. Which is why it is important to plan ahead because nothing is sexier than maximizing your options!

Graduation as a high school junior is a very common option. Many high schoolers feel as if the fourth and final year is always a waste of time and to many it is, as you stay on board for a few classes, including the required ones. Why not get a head start on college instead, as it is the pre-requisite to life, by enrolling in your local university or community college in substitution for this final year.

Also plan what AP courses you'll be taking but before doing so, it's always wise to look at college course catalogs from your department of choice. This way you can study hard for the AP Exams that'll provide you with exemption from a college course. For instance, pretty much every major will require a rhetoric & composition, literature, and government & economics class, so why not try to pass these if you're confused about what other AP Exams to take.

If your local university allows high school students to enroll in college, grab the bull by the horns, period! Take as many college courses as you can as a high schooler so you can broaden your horizons regarding the knowledge of what's expected as a 'collegeer'. The more AP Exams you prepare for and do well in and the more courses you take in college, the more succesful you'll be in college.

There are always incentives
