Five healthy eating behaviors would be drinking water, eating breakfast, substituting honey for sugar, limiting food portions and getting quality sleep.
Healthy eating is about moderation and portion control. Our bodies are complex machines that need every vitamin and mineral to run smoothly. Five behaviors that enable healthy eating habits are drinking water, eating a balanced breakfast, substituting honey for artificial sweeteners, limiting food portions and getting a good night sleep. When these techniques are applied, a person is often motivated to modify their eating habits entirely.
Drinking water
Drinking water is a great place to start when changing ones eating habits. Often a person will start drinking water with one meal instead of soda or juice. The next week, they may want to drink water with two meals and so forth. Making a small adjustment like this can bring about great results. A person will look better gradually when they are consistent.. Once a person sees the difference in how they feel, they may want to continue with different types of food.
Eating a Balanced Breakfast
This is another good way to get into the habit of healthy eating. Why? When a person starts their day eating well, they will want to continue. Eating a well balanced breakfast helps a person start off the day correctly. For example, a person may have oranges, grapes and strawberries with oatmeal and two slices of whole grain bread. This is a nutritious breakfast.
Using honey as a natural sweetener
Honey is not only sweet, it's good for you. Honey is 100% fat free. It delivers a burst of nutrients that no other sweeter can. A person can include honey in their oatmeal or tea. It is a great way to sweeten turkey, chicken or fish. Gradually, a person will be motivated to include other healthy elements to their foods.
Limited Food Portions
When it comes to food, less is better. Limiting portions helps a person control how much they eat at a given time. For example, if a person has a set amount of food to eat, it will enable them not to overeat. By practicing portion control a person is able to eat healthier. Smaller amounts of subsistence will make room for other foods. These foods are yogurt, fruit and vegetables.
Getting a good night sleep
Sleep is one of the most beneficial actions we can take towards health. It is important to get a good quality sleep each and every night. Deep sleep or (REM) sleep is what our body benefits most from. This is because it promotes cell renewal and growth. This is great for the body. Getting 6 to 8 hours of sleep also increases metabolism, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol. When a person wakes up from a quality nights rest, they feel ready for anything. They will also want to put healthy foods into their bodies.
Healthy eating is a life long investment in the body. When the body is healthy, you have your life. Take care of yourself and give your body the greatest gift of all. This is something that is priceless.
