Writing is a quick medication you can try at home for anger. Of all the ways of reducing anger it is the most easiest and satisfying. It is a peaceful and empowering process, churning out a better you. I write when I am angry and that pacifies and strengthens me.
Anger makes my writing process quicker. I often think about writing, contemplate on ideas for long, plans on developing those sparkling thoughts and rarely even jot down words and names. Then I dream of making stories, poems and novels out of it, printing it, publishing and having a hardback, coverage designed by myself, colour schemes and thank you notes. I spend most of the time thinking of who all to thank and how touchingly I can do that. That will take me into a journey of my own life, all the people, places and feelings I know and then I get lost. Months later I come across the jotted notes and wonder what rubbish can it be for recycle bin or for the ordinary?
However, things seem to solidify when one is angry; in my case when I am as angry as a bitten bull and there is no outlet for your anger. Then with a pen and paper comes grammatically correct, spell checked long whole sentences in a flow seemingly endless and abundant.
How does that work? When one is angry the blood flow increases and you become physically active and energetic. Depending on the after effects of your anger, you will be able to write endlessly. The anger definitely triggers off the writing. All that has been accumulating over the past find its way on to the paper. One will be carried on to a different world where there is no rights and wrongs, no rules, no competitions, no promotions and nothing to fear. Vola! It is just you and your existence and the joy of being with you. All you need for the ride is the power within you-good and bad and all the rest.
When you start writing you disconnect yourself from the rest of the world and look at yourself and within you and at the rest of the world from yet another place. That is what keeps the flow going. Further down the journey, your blood pressure comes down, heartbeat becomes normal and you have a new outlook which is yet more powerful and your own. And all that is achieved by a non-violent method bringing out some beautiful part of yourself. How exciting! Added boost-it costs nothing. Anger and all the pain that comes with it is gone and you are fresh to face harder challenges.
It is going to be a year since I was trying to write for Helium, but it is only when I had an argument with my husband that I was able to write this one. I guess my dream book will be out soon after he slaps me. Thanks all.
