Regardless of where people live in the world, it's quite common for there to be rude people there as well. The usual reaction that people have towards rude people is to be rude back to them or belittling. However, for professionals, it becomes a habit to try to be civil around anyone including rude ones.
There's a stigma about people being rude that there are people born that way or have been that way for so long that is how they currently are however that myth can't be proven to be true. Regardless, there are ways to deal with the brash confrontations that rude people throw at unsuspecting people.
There are people who are rude simply to be rude they want a negative reaction from the people that they are rude towards however if they are confronted with no reaction or a patient and kind one, they most likely will go away or just stop and do a reproach.
Naturally when someone is rude towards another, it's stressful and makes them angry towards the rude person and they want to snap back and be rude towards them but one must remember to take a deep breath and be civil and not stoop to that person's level because they want a reaction from them.
If someone on the street is mouthing off to someone, the easiest thing to do is to turn around and walk away from them; showing that they don't have time for a baseless confrontation which could escalate into a violent occurrence.
If in a store and someone is rude towards another such as physically pushing them from behind, the person could calmly and politely ask them to discontinue with the pushing and request it with a smile.
Within the workplace if someone is rude, it's best to be polite, calm, and understanding to the other person. If they refuse to listen to reason, be stern and assertive with them without being rude back to them. You may refuse to service them and speak to a co worker or their manager to deal with the rude person and if that does not work then call Security and they will be escorted off the premises.
If a co worker, manager, or another staff member is rude towards someone or behind their back and that person finds out, it's best to go to the supervisor of whom the rude person is and tell them of the unprofessional behavior and leave it at that. If someone is rude towards them, they should smile and use the person's name when requesting for them to desist with their rude behavior.
Some people have bad days and the people who they interact with that particular day may get the brash side of their personality and that is understandable; we all have our bad days however if someone is constantly rude then it's best to walk away, kindly confront them, or speak to an authority figure about the situation and the person in question.
