In this crazy world of uncertainties and harshness, there is always one place where we can find comfort and security in our lives. When we are down, or upset, there is always one person who can make us feel encouraged and special, our mom.
On the special day dedicated to display our love and appreciation for mom, start the day by letting her enjoy some extra rest, let her sleep in. While she is sleeping start the coffee and straighten up the house for her.
In the dining room, dress the table with special linens, and display some colorful fresh cut flowers in her favorite vase as a centerpiece.
Invite your grandmother to attend your specially planned brunch and make it a generational event.
Prepare a delicate meal of chicken salad on toasted bread and grapes with a garden salad topped with crunchy croutons, creamy shredded cheese and her favorite dressing. For dessert serve a chilled piece of chocolate cream pie and coffee.
Seat your guests and offer them a drink while you are making preparations to begin serving them. Pour them some coffee or ice tea and make you way back to the kitchen.
Fill chilled bowls with crisp, green, garden salad and add a splash of dressing. Take them to your guests in the dining room and don't forget the forks. Sit down and enjoy the refreshing taste of the fresh greens as you converse lightly.
Once the salads are consumed, the main course can now be served. Lightly toast the bread and use a spoon to spread the chicken salad on it. After you place a second piece of lightly toasted bread on top to make a sandwich, use a knife to cut the sandwich in half and place it on a plate with some seedless grapes. Prepare one plate for every invited guest and serve them with a smile.
Sit down with your guests and share some memories about your past. Enjoy your meal and then return to the kitchen to prepare the dessert to be served.
Remove the chocolate cream pie from the fridge and begin by slicing it into several smaller pieces and place them on a small dessert plate. Before you make your entrance with the decadent silky chocolate pie, return to the dining room and serve the coffee. Now you can reveal the scrumptious dessert. Serve this with a kiss on the cheek.
This will surely be a day that your mother will remember for a lifetime. After the meal has been completed, end the brunch by taking a new photo to capture this memory of a perfect mother's day brunch.
