How I relax? Yes, hobbies bring out the Aaaawwwwwwwwww in me. Having a hobby is probably one of the most healthy things you can do for yourself. To treat yourself right, to give you some you time. If you don't take care of yourself, how can you take care of anyone else, or your responsibilities.
I like to relax with a good book. To me that is the ultimate way to relax and rejuvenate. To let my mind wonder in a story other than my own. To be in another world or in someone else's life so I don't have to think about all the worries in my own life. When I read, all the worries from my own life don't seem so bad. It gives me idea's of how I can make things better in my own life. It doesn't matter what the book is about, it still makes me feel better.
Writing also makes me feel better about all the things in my life, either its negative or positive. I feel there is always room for improvement. You can always be a little bit nicer, a litter bit more productive, or a little bit more active. But I try not to put too much pressure on myself to get this done, because then you just get stressed and start worrying that your not doing what your suppose to be doing, not doing what you set out to do. Then it just defeats the purpose. Just keep it in the back of your mind and know eventually you will get it done. No pressure.
Running is a big way I relax. When I tell people this, they look at me like I was just dropped on this planet. I know it sounds strange, but it's true. Running releases endorphins in the brain, the feel good chemical. Tons of people have reported that they feel more relaxed after running or any kind of aerobic exercise. Running does help me to relax more than any other exercise. I do feel relaxed while I'm running. About 10 minutes into the run, I hit my stride and relax my shoulders and just run, it's that Aaaawwwww moment.
Gardening is a new hobby that I have found to relax. This is new to me, but this summer, I have decided to give it a try. I really don't know all that much about it, but what I have done so far, it is relaxing and the product of my labor is beautiful. I just hope I can keep what I have planted alive. I'm pretty much gardening with blind eyes, because I have never attempted to do it before. But I see it like this, everyone had to start somewhere, maybe I will get really good at it once I get some practice. And then I will take pictures of what I planted and maybe put them in the house. Well, we'll see.
