SADNESS FOR GLADNESS
Once upon a time
there was a beautiful
young girl but she didn't
think it so.
She went through life
with puffy hair
make up
and every season
a new wardrobe.
Jesus entered her heart
to guide her and
change her
and set her apart.
The years ticked by
and she grew old
and wise
removing her outward disguise.
She learned
beauty was deep
being kind and meek
gentle, tender and sweet.
She traded in her heels
for sneakers and comfy shoes
her classy clothes
for jeans and sweats too.
Today her beauty
is only within
and she is the happiest
she's ever been.
