Far and away I have wandered

Sickness and disease I have suffered

Before my adversaries I have been terrified

Broken and desolate, the Lord found me.

I think of these

and fall on my knees

and pray to the Father.

Heavily laden was my soul

With seeds of rebellion and disobedience

I was in mournful groans and griefs

He saw me, rescued me and promised me rest.

If the Lord was not on my side

The Deep would have engulfed me

The battle so bruising would have been lost

But He cheered me up in unfathomable ways.

Your Report, O Sovereign Lord, I believe

The Spirit of the Lord come and strengthen me

Dear Jesus come and abide in my heart

For my trust is for You, your love sustains me.
