Drug Addiction: The Road to Recovery
Once you decide to enter a Drug Program, you must undergo a process called Detoxication. A strong cocktail is given every four hours and decreases, until you are clean from Drug abuse substances, this can take a few weeks. Counseling begins with a wide range of therapeutic Drug Abuse Programs. Sharing Drug Abuse experiences and helping others in the Drug Program is extremely important in your recovery.
You cannot have a full recovery without a Drug Abuse Program; studies have shown Detoxication along with The Drug Program works together. Only then will Sobriety increase chances for a lifetime. Join a Drug Program and do it right the first time, Detox and Drug Programs is the key to survival.
Different Drug Abuse Programs Facilities have short care, or long care. Many are only a month while other Drug Abuse programs are up to six months or longer. Some look like resorts, or hospital settings. It does not matter where you go as long as you get HELP! Studies have shown that patients taking the six month Drug Abuse Programs have a 90% success rate of Sobriety for the rest of their lives, than the shorter Drug Abuse Programs where there is more chances of having a relapse.
Self-awareness and getting to know one's true self is what you will discover. This is a new Journey to embark for a better tomorrow. Once you finish the Drug Program, you will continue group counseling for as long as your need. Many men feel safe, and having friends that understand, because they have indeed walked in their shoes.
Within twelve to twenty-hours withdrawals kick in, each person severity of symptoms are different: Tremors (the Shakes), vomiting, perspiration, headaches, restlessness, no appetite, insomnia. Effects that are more serious can be Delirium Tremens (DT's), seizures, convulsions.
Heroin Addicts have a harder time because the chronic drugs go into their nervous system. Therefore, withdrawals symptoms in detox are much more excruciation, and peak after two to four days. They are abdominal pains, insomnia, chills, sweating, sniffing, sneezing, weakness, and irritability.
Family is crucial in rehabilitation in the Drug Abuse Programs, they can help learn the tools needed to help their loved ones deal with this crisis, and no one should do this alone. Alanon is very important program for wife's and family members. They will show you ways to cope yourself, and hold things together. Right now, you are the clue to hold this family together. Both Drug Abuse Programs are very spiritual in the love of God
