Brunch wedding receptions follow a morning wedding ceremony that takes place around 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM. I love morning weddings and a brunch reception especially is always so fresh and crisp in the morning. Can you think of a better way to start the day than with a wedding and all of your loved ones and friends surrounding you? Well I can't either.
Keep in mind that you are ordering different foods for your brunch than you would be for the typical evening reception. The menu for a wedding brunch will feature delectable items such as breakfast pastries, fresh baked rolls, croissants, bagels, muffins, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and fresh juices. A wedding brunch is usually dry but if you want to serve alcohol then champagne, champagne punch, wine spritzers, Screw Drivers, Bloody Mary's or Morning Glories are all nice with a brunch. If you want to go all out you can even have a crepe or omelet bar and have your guests treated to a chef preparing them fresh.
Since a wedding brunch usually takes place between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM your guests may not be prepared for a heavy meal. You should start off with serving coffees, teas and juices, perhaps cocktails and light fruits before the main meal. Meet with your caterer for tasting different options and make the choices that you and your fianc want to eat. Remember if you are having children attend you will want to make food selections that appeal to their tastes as well.
Your wedding brunch may be an outdoor affair with buffet tables or an indoor seated affair with servers or outdoor with servers and indoor with buffets. The choice is yours; it is after all your wedding brunch. You can even have a combination of the two.
When you are picking a location for your wedding brunch you will want to visit the location at the same time of day you plan on having your brunch. Locations look different at all times of the day. Pay particular attention to how the sunlight filters into the location. It should enhance your brunch not show off any location flaws.
A morning wedding brunch is economical and will run you approximately $20 to $85 per person depending on the location site you have chosen. Location sites are sometimes less expensive during the early day time hours. Your alcohol cost will also be lower as well because people do not drink in excess during the day. Not having a band or DJ will save you money but it might be nice to have a piano playing or soft orchestra CD playing in the background.
The cake may be any type from a traditional tiered cake, cupcakes with a small cake for cutting, to petit fours also with a small cake for cutting. The choice is yours. The wedding cake becomes your morning desert, served with coffee or teas. In the case of children serving juice and or milk and chocolate milk may be appropriate.
Wedding brunch receptions are beautiful and they can take place indoors or outside in an English garden setting. A wedding brunch reception will provide an enjoyable experience and a different twist to your wedding that your guests will remember. Use your imagination, enjoy your reception and congratulations.
