fence should keep them out - or a strong and thick plantation of appropriate shrubs or trees. If you live in a part of the world where bamboo will grow this is ideal because it grows thick and strong yet is flexible enough to withstand a very high wind (or a charging wild boar!) If you live in a very remote area of the countryside, you may consider using a device which makes a loud bang every half hour or so. This is good at scaring almost any creature away - but if you have neighbours, you may wish you had left your garden to the deer and wild boar!
Moles can be dealt with in various ways but can be very persistent. They won't eat your crops, but they have a habit of tunnelling up and damaging them. If you don't want to kill them, try buying a sonic device which you can put at various intervals into their tunnels. The noise drives them away quite quickly. Musical birthday card inserts are useful for this, too.
If your predator is a bird (lovers of berries and strawberries) you could put nets over the fruit. However it has been known for a bird to become tangled in this and die a very painful death. Instead, try hanging old CDs from pieces of string on poles. The sunlight causes all kinds of weird patterns and shadows and is great at frightening the birds away without doing them any harm.
