Society as a whole is becoming more and more conscious of healthy eating; however complete nutrition is difficult to obtain by diet alone. Omega-3 fish oil:
"Omega-3 fatty acids found in purified fish oil have been shown to significantly reduce heart attack and stroke by actually stabilizing the cholesterol plaque by reducing the inflammation in the blood stream" says Dr. Hastings, a family practice doctor voted as one of "America's Top Family Doctors" by Consumers' Research Council of America.
Many studies have shown that Omega-3 fatty acids can help to keep blood pressure low, reduce inflammation and symptoms of depression, protect from heart attacks and stroke, and improve memory and focus. It has also been linked to preventing cancer. With all these benefits, and the fact that heart disease is the number one killer of men, Omega-3 fish oil is one nutrient to add to a healthy diet.
Omega-3 can be found in fish like tuna, mackerel and salmon; however since many people do not like fish there are supplements available. When looking for a supplement, be sure to choose one that is pharmaceutical grade. Also, read the label, just because it says it is fish oil, it may contain other unnecessary additives.
For healthy men, the recommended dose is 1,000mg/day.
Coenzyme Q10:
CoQ10 is a fat-soluble vitamin like substance found in every cell of the body, specifically in the mitochondria of the cells. It is produced naturally in the body and plays a major role in the biochemical reactions that produce energy in cells.
