Low-calorie cocktails

The sad truth must come into the light, there really is no such thing as a low-calorie cocktail or mocktail. Alcohol and sweet drink mixers are just high in calories. However, you can have a cocktail/mocktail or two and stay on your diet. The keyword is moderation.

Less alcohol means fewer calories. So the weaker your drink, the better. Less drink mixers also mean fewer calories. So the more dull your mocktail, the better. Stay away from sweet alcohols altogether if you're looking for low-calorie cocktails. Any sweet fruity drink is a diet killer.

You may have to sacrifice a little taste to the great diet gods, but that doesn't mean you cannot enjoy a great drink. Instead of the classic cocktail, try a cocktail spritzer to save on calories. Don't expect these drinks to be as sticky sweet as many cocktails, but they can still be just as satisfying. Just remember to slowly sip your cocktail to make it last much longer.
