Poetry: Yearning

Do not make my heart ache for you,
with yearning and unabated need.
Stay with me and fulfill our vows;
if it's love you want, I will concede.

Do not make memories of you all that I have
of a love that expanded and knew no bounds.
Stay with me love and enjoy this night's bliss,
and revel in the rhythm of my heart's sounds.

Do not leave me with this thirst to ponder
whether you love me enough to commit.
Stay with me and calm my inner turmoil,
while I prove to you we're the perfect fit.

Do not take my devoted love and run away,
leaving my heart to hunger for you in despair.
Stay with me and share this unbridled passion;
I promise you nothing else could ever compare.

Do not leave me alone O lover of my heart,
as no other can ever take the place of you.
Stay with me throughout our golden years,
for the love I offer will forever remain true.

    Years ago, I sipped from
    Your well of tenderness,
