Is true love really blind?

A true love is not blind. In fact, it brings us closer to reality. It widens and broaden our mind and helps improve our vision to harmonize ourselves with the realities of the world. The person we love is acceptable to us with all his/her shortcomings, flaws or defects. It does not mean that his/her love darkens our reason and numbs our mind towards our beloved. We love to see our beloved having all good and worthy qualities. Love at first sight is rare in our present age, where many things are taken into consideration before choosing a life-partner.

True love is never conditional. It never chains or shackles our mind and body, rather it liberates the lovers of all chains of compulsion and obligations. By saying, "Love is blind", if someone means that it is illogical, insensible and immature, he is grossly mistaken, and, sorry to say, has narrow outlook of things.

Parental love for their children is boundless, but they won't allow their children being spoiled because of their undue and unnecessary expression of their love for them. They, sometimes though against their will, punish them severely just to correct and reform them to their own benefit in the long run. Their love for their children cannot make them oblivious and neglectful of their parental responsibilities towards their children. It cannot exempt and absolve them of their prime duty to help and enable their children to be useful member of society. They won't hesitate to even resort punishment to make their children do good in their life.

As for the love between two lovers is concerned, it goes without saying that they too desire to have pure, true and genuine love. They love to base their relations on pure feelings, genuine love, cooperation, mutual understanding, spirit of self-sacrifice and tolerance. With these supreme qualities on their side, they are sure to find or meet durable and time-tested love.

In our salad days, we, due to our immaturity, tend to take every crush as love. Even infatuations are taken or considered as true love. Hardly or little do we realise that a genuine and true love is far greater than the things they are proud of.

It's time we realise that old proverbs may not always be true, given the world of difference between past and present. In this materialistic age, many concepts have been altogether changed and being replaced by new ones. No one can deny the great significance of love, for it is our inherent feels and noble quality every one loves to possess. What we need is to understand love and get inspiration from it to make our life successful.
