I love to watch television and hate to see my favorite shows canceled! What can be done? After getting over the initial disappointment I would suggest you write a letter to the television station to let them know that you are disappointed. If the show was canceled due to the network's decision, maybe they will reconsider if many people write with similar letters.
1.) Write a letter asking for the reinstatement of the beloved show. There are cases where the actors and actresses are moving on to other acting jobs then there is little we can do as viewers. Especially if some of the characters written in the story are part of a high school group or other age specific group, then it is unlikely that the show will be recast when actors and actresses that play these roles mature and move on. Many fans would not like recasting anyway.
2.) Write everything you like about the show and share with others on social media sites, maybe even create a page dedicated to the show and let fans write comments about the show and its untimely demise.
3.) Let the people involved with the show, like actors, producers and sponsors know you appreciated their efforts and hope to see more of this show or shows similar to this one.
If the ratings are down I would suggest that people, talk about their favorite shows and get their family and friends to watch. There seems to be strength in numbers. So get your friends watching. Host a themed party on the night of your favorite show. Invite your friends and start a tradition. Have your friends dress up like the characters if possible. Talk about the shows you like on communication websites you may use to keep in touch with friends.
The real dedicated fans can visit the television show's website and purchase clothing, mugs, and other memorabilia with the show's logos splashed across them if offered. This may help keep the shows you watch in the minds of your peers. It seems like there are just so great talented casts on television now that it would be easy to forget about a show that you normally watch and if you are not reminded, consequently the ratings may plummet.Especially due to the fact that many people tape their shows ahead of time and fast forward the commercials making the sponsors adverting less effective.
It is sad to find out that shows you love get lost in the shuffle and have low ratings when they are great well cast and cleverly scripted. If one of your favorite shows is on the chopping block remember to look for your favorite actors in future productions. Many long running shows will also be syndicated and re-runs will most likely be shown long after the cast has retired to the big stage in the sky.
