for trying one last time to foil God's plans. I admit, none of this makes sense. Because at that point, it says "When the thousand years are up, Satan will be let loose...and will launch again his old work of deceiving the nations, searching out victims...he'll talk them into going to war and will gather a huge army, millions strong. They'll stream across the earth, surround and lay siege to the camp of God's holy people, the Beloved City. They'll no sooner get there than fire will pour out of Heaven and burn them up. The Devil who deceived them will be hurled into Lake Fire and Brimstone, joining the Beast and False Prophet, the three in torment around the clock for ages without end" (Revelation 20:11-15). And being that this particular mention of battle isn't to where Jesus comes to Earth in the middle of everyone fighting, but that He comes WITH His followers, who watch as Jesus destroys the wicked in their entirety.
There are so many questions about how exactly the final hours of Earth will play out, but I don't think any of it will be the way we as a society have portrayed it through all the movies and books that "foretell" the end of the world. There will always be speculation, but I know without a doubt that we are headed to the point in time as foretold in Revelation. We just never know if at any time Jesus will return, same as we never know if there will be another war that will end millions of lives in an instant. But I don't think we have anything to fear of the battle of Armaggedon, because everything in the Bible assures us that as long as we stand firm in our convictions, and even if we are slaughtered for our beliefs, the Lord will overcome the world and lift us to His kingdom to be with Him for eternity. Why should anything else matter?
