Old Testament prophets and of course all the other disciples of Jesus who had witnessed his crucifixion, his victory over death, and his ascension into Heaven. Yet Revelation is a completely different book from all the rest. Yes, it is known that since the Garden of Eden, the evil angel Satan had been banished to Earth to lead humans into sin, so as to deter as many people as he is able from following God's plan for eternal life. Unfortunately, from there faiths tend to differ on what will happen to end Satan's rule on Earth. Too much ado is made about the day of reckoning, and not enough about how to be ready!

The Book of Revelation

At the time of the Lord's return, people will have been living more sinfully than ever before - which is something that seems to be apparent in today's world with people becoming more and more wicked. Then, according to Revelation, the first thing that happens is "...every eye will see him..." (Revelation 1:7). Mention is made about the seven churches (being the types of followers in latter-day times). Each group is given praise or correction in how they lived for the Lord (see Revelation chapters 2-3). Then John is given a view of Heaven, where he says: "At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it" (Revelation 4:2). Similar to what Paul said in Philippians 2:9-11 that "every knee shall bow", John speaks of this indeed happening with hearing "...every creature in heaven and on Earth, and under the Earth, and on the sea, and all that is in them...singing (praise)..." (Revelation 4:13). You notice from the beginning of the book that John seems to be taking note of what he sees happening both in Heaven and on Earth. Then, In chapter 9, the scene is set for what appears to be a battle (see verses 1-11), but in none of Jesus' teachings does it ever say that the day of the Lord is anything more than His return, the end of Satan, and the victory for believers in Christ. Jesus says that "the angels will separate the wicked from the righteous" (Matthew 13:49-50), and that the end of the ages will take place after wars and rumors of wars take place - though nothing cataclysmic (Matthew 24:6). In short, the one element that remains the same from what Jesus says and what John reiterates in Revelation is that there will be many who will try to deceive people into thinking the Lord has returned before the actual event, leading them astray by way of the antichrist and his minions. So in
