Let's face it: Valentine's Day is often more stressful for guys than it is romantic. There's a lot of pressure to come up with a good Valentine's Day gift as a male. Does she want something flashy and expensive? Does she want something deep and meaningful? Every woman's tastes are different and men are not always great at figuring them out. What, you mean a new knife set isn't romantic? There are basically three routes to take.

Something Sexy

Buy some lingerie for yourself, massage oils, a new sex toy, or even some erotica if you're comfortable. Or, take some pictures (or video) of yourself and present those to him. Girls sometimes fail to realize that guys need to feel sexy too, and the best way to do that is to show him how much you want him. Additionally, it will distract him nicely from any pre-Valentine's stress that might have been running through his head. Be sure to make the night special. If your normal routine is slow and easy, make it wild. Or, if you usually go at it like rabbits, slow things down and tantalize his senses.

Something Nice

It sounds corny, but it still works. Draw up "coupons" for him to use for various favors. It could be something physical (see above), but it could also be helping around the house, giving him some alone time, or a "Get Out of Jail Free" card for getting out of fights. This will also serve to release the stress that has been building up for him over this past week. Especially if your guy works full time, he will be sure to appreciate any gesture that eases his mind.

Something Sweet

If you feel like you know your guy really well, just throw caution to the wind and do something that you would also enjoy to get. Make a photo collage reminiscing on your first date. Create a piece of art or write a song. Make him his favorite meal and then have a long relaxing night on the town. Guys don't beg for it, but they're often romantics at heart just as girls are, and appreciate a meaningful gesture when they get one. Some people say chocolates and flowers are no-no's for guys, but properly presented, you may still have success with them.

When in doubt, there is one gift that never fails to please. It can be for a man or woman, a hopeless romantic or a horndog: a plate of homemade cookies. Find a nice easy recipe, and be sure to throw in some nuts or chocolate (whatever he likes) to make them stand out. Add some frosting to spell out "Happy Valentine's Day" and make some into hearts, and you've got the perfect present.
