Short Haired : This breed is popular with most people because the hair is short which it makes it easier to care for. The hair doesn't get matted as easy, as with the breeds that have longer hair.
Teddy: This breed has hair that can grow to a moderate length, and it's coat resembles mostly of a plush toy because it's fuzzy and tends to stand on end. One feature that makes this breed a little different from the others is it's hair on his belly tends to be longer, as to the other breeds, their bellies are almost bare.
Texel: This breed is kind of like the Silkie or Sheltie breed (has long hair that will flow over it's body and doesn't flow over his face), but with curls. The hair also is curly on his belly.
Skinny Pig: This is one of the breeds that is relatively rare or emerging.. This type of breed is hairless, but does have curly hair on their nose, and also on their feet and legs. When they are born, they are nearly hairless.
Baldwin: This is another hairless breed, and when they are born, they have a full coat of hair. Then the hair falls out until they are bald, leaving the skin exposed and have a few wrinkles. They do have hair in small amounts on their feet only.
There are a variety of colors the guinea pigs have, but only three colors appear on each guinea pig. There is the red, black and/or white series. In the reds, there are white, cream, buff, orange, and the red. In the black series is the beige, lilac, chocolate, and black.
