The morning broke at fencepost 36
Sunrise at six a.m.
Fire's up and coffee's on
It's cold this morning again
The wind chills the skin on me
But inside I'm nice and warm
Clouds have gathered up ahead
Looks like another storm
And as I ride
I think about days
Of crystal mornings
Spent with you
The joy you give
Makes my heart spin
And smile when it comes to you
Straight ahead the bridge washed out
In the spring of ninety-three
What's past is past, no sense a'fretting
It's best to let it be
Just one lonely day of riding fence
Makes me want you even more
But your notes to me, I hope you see
Help me make it through the storm
And as I ride
I think about days
Of crystal mornings
Spent with you
The joy you give
Makes my heart spin
And smile when it comes to you
I never been one for the spoken word
I do best when I can write it down
But it's hard to write about happiness
When my feet don't touch the ground
Two hearts can beat as one, my love
I always thought it true
I never have loved another
Half as much as I love you
And as I ride
I think about days
Of crystal mornings
Spent with you
The joy you give
Makes my heart spin
And smile when it comes to you

The Cowboy Just Ain’t Gonna Die
I’ve heard something sad
About what some people have said
That the Cowboy is
Cowboys don't stay long, they just break your heart,
they sweet talk, and love you,
then tear you apart.
