Crack cocaine

There are many things that crack cocaine is, and there are many things that it is not. Knowing the facts of crack cocaine is the best way to start the journey of overcoming cocaine addiction. One of the most common myths or misconceptions that plague cocaine is that it is a disease. Cocaine is not a disease, but a highly addictive drug, that can be overcome. Recovered crack addicts are known to explain cocaine addiction as an evil entity that's only goal is to destroy anyone that will let it control them. Cocaine addiction is also commonly known to ruin lives, relationships, families and careers and may be portrayed as glamorous in movies and the media.

Crack cocaine causes a short-lived "high" that is promptly followed by strong feelings of depression, agitation and addiction. "Crashing" or coming down from crack cocaine causes severe depression, which becomes much more intense after each use of the drug. In rare instances, sudden death is known to occur on the first use of crack or unexpectedly thereafter. Crack is also directly linked to the cause of cardiac arrest. Crack speeds up a person's heart rate, this can even cause the heart to stop. Cocaine addiction is a natural born killer, there is no way to determine how many times a person has used crack cocaine and how much cocaine they have used, this means that there is no way to predict when the user will suffer cardiac arrest.

Crack cocaine, is created from the coca plant, and supplies users with an altered state of mind that is popularly described as "euphoric." Crack cocaine is commonly thought to be the most addictive form of any drug, though this accusation has been recently contested. As with many other addictions, cocaine addiction can cause an extreme need to obtain more of the substance. Someone suffering from Cocaine addiction is commonly known to show signs of deep depression that can get so intense it can drive the addict to murder or even suicide.

After knowing the facts and common misconceptions of cocaine addiction you can then begin to look at how to overcome cocaine addiction. One of the most common ways to overcome cocaine addiction is to simply stop using the drug. Before you do this there are some thing's to know about the withdraw symptoms of crack cocaine. There are no physical withdraw symptoms of cocaine addiction only emotional. Emotional withdraw symptoms are commonly explained as tiredness, depression, anxiety, and moodiness.

Addicts also suffer from cross addiction, they will drink alcohol in the place of a cocaine addiction in an attempt to reduce withdraw. One common issue with cross addiction is that alcohol will indefinitely trigger the use of crack cocaine. Addicts replacing a cocaine addiction with alcohol dependency may do fine for a few weeks or even a few months, though it only takes one bad day or week for a recovering addict to subdue to the power of cocaine. To efficiently overcome cocaine addiction you must stop all the usage of addictive substances including alcohol and marijuana.
