At the end of the day
Darkness falls
And the moon shines down,
Lighting the path from your heart to mine.
At the end of the day
I walk up the stairs
And open the door
To your smile.
All is well with the world.
At the end of the day
My eyes find yours
And your gaze, as intense as the comforting silence,
Melts all the day's troubles away.
At the end of the day
There is no need to say sorry.
We know it without any words
And the anger, the sadness,
Will evaporate like morning dew
On a summer rose.
At the end of the day
Your gentle kiss
Is powerful enough to move mountains.
There is nothing I cannot accomplish.
At the end of the day
I can close my eyes
And lie next to you,
Listening to the rhythm of your quiet breaths.
And I know,
At the end of the day,
This is only the beginning.
