The Internet provides virtually unlimited opportunities to learn about the newest beauty products and the best tips and tricks. Standout websites include: babyassface.com, makeupandbeautyblog.com, vampyblog.vampyvarnish.com, Michelle Phan on youtube.com and makeupalley.com.
Babyassface is humorous and informative. The blogger, Jenny, blogs about product reviews, homemade beauty like using lemon or tomato in skin treatments and weird-but-true beauty features.
With the tongue-in-cheek catchphrase under the babyassface.com banner:
"Naturally beautiful skin is just hundreds of products away"
She seems like she doesn't take beauty completely seriously, but would never want to be without it. Countless women can probably identify with that same feeling.
Makeup and Beauty Blog is a very fun blog written by makeup-obsessed blogger, Karen. Her blog features entries about MAC cosmetics and other high-end brands like Smashbox, YSL, Urban Decay, 3 Custom Color, and many more. Conversely, there are entries on Drugstore Beauty, so it does not matter where someone's budget lies. Any person can find their ideal product and application technique on this blog. Additionally, the blog has sections on nails, hair and fragrance. Karen does video tutorials which are entertaining, cute and descriptive. She takes great photographs of products which will have any beauty lover drooling. In addition, Karen regularly does giveaways and polls on the site.
Vampy Varnish is a nails-only blog written by polish-enthusiast, Kelly. She reviews oodles of polishes and photographs every single one! Kelly reviews an array of polishes from drugstore polishes like Sally Hansen and luxury types like Deborah Lippman, Essie, O.P.I. and Nars. Moreover, she features brands that are uncommon to a myriad of consumers, so visitors may find a brand or two (or three) they have never heard of. Vampy Varnish holds contests and entertaining questionnaires.
Youtube is chock full of illustrative beauty tutorials. These are excellent visual aids. Watching someone in action applying their makeup, curling their lashes or styling their hair can be more valuable for certain learners. Besides, just reading blogs and viewing pictures can feel a bit two-dimensional at times, and a person might want to vary their viewing style. One fabulous video-blogger, also known as a vlogger, is Michelle Phan on Youtube. Michelle's tutorial subjects are varied. In fact, no matter what a viewer's beauty preference is, from DIY beauty to super-glam, their cosmetic-yen will be satiated! She even does a dramatic beauty-breakdown of singer, Lady Gaga's look in the video, Poker Face. On the recessionista cutting-edge, Phan has a video that teaches Youtubers how to make spiral curls with a single brown paper bag. Unbelievable!
In one's quest to find the best skincare, haircare and cosmetics, it is advisable to use a review site like Makeupalley before purchasing products. This saves people valuable time, effort, energy and money. Consumers write reviews on items they buy in the section called Product Reviews. In order to read reviews, one must first join the site. Membership is free. Products are ranked on their overall rating, price, packaging, and whether the reviewer would repurchase or not. Makeupalley is vital for anyone who wants to research a product ahead of time.
