Could you imagine this modern world without the Internet? Everyone has benefited from the countless advantages and benefits that we are enjoying because of the Internet. Yet, in everything in this world, there are also disadvantages that always go with the advantages. The emergence of Internet has made many things easier for many people but it has also its negative side.

1. Easy access for illegal activities

Internet has been around not very long yet the scams that were committed and are being committed are too vast that it is very hard to distinguish between which is real and which is not. The Internet has affected a lot of people from the poor to the rich people who want to earn money online. Some people who just want to earn online are easy prey for those greedy scammers and yet nothing could be done about it. Even someone who is just enjoying surfing the net could become a victim of fraud.

2. Children have easy access to restricted for adults sites

There is no way a person could be identified of his/her age in the Internet. Even the very young children could change their age into the qualified age to access the sites that cater to the flesh trade. A friend of mine said that she has prohibited the use of the Internet to her children because at their age which is four, eight and ten, they have mistakenly accessed a, for adults only site and they were shocked at what they saw. The good thing was that the children were responsible enough and they immediately got out of the site. How many more children are like my friends children?

3. Some sites are used to scam people

I have known people who have made friends through the Internet and who were scammed by these people in the end. The Internet is an easy way to scam someone. Many people have been swindled through the Internet and many more are being victims. The sad part here is that the scammer can never be traced and they go on with their activities to victimize other people.

4. Many young people are being brainwashed

Many young people are victims of sex-related cases because of the Internet. Young people often find friends through the Internet then they are being brainwashed up to the time that they are either raped or become victims of sexual abuse. Sometimes they are lured into a good job but they end up being sold to sex dens or they are sold as brides.

5. Addictive activity

The Internet has made young people addicted to games and surfing for friends and other activities. Some
