Vegetables should be the vital component of a regular diet. I would recommend one complete meal which involves veggies. It could be along with any of your favorite meat products. Let's find out some of the ways by which we can boost the veggies consumption for those who really dislike them.
1. Use vegetable broth while cooking food. Once the taste is developed, vegetables can be taken on a regular basis.
2. Remember to take vegetable soups instead of meat soup. This could be the best way to develop the taste.
3. Add veggies to your favorite pasta or noodles. Pastas taste better with some fresh vegetables like green pepper, tomatoes & cabbage than any other meat products.
4. Add veggies to your favorite smoothie. Blend your favorite fruits with vegetables.
5. Add veggies with non-veggies. Vegetables such as tomato, green peppers can be easily added with any meat or chicken cooked at home.
6. Slowly introduce different veggies in a day. Try one new veggie every week while trying with kids. Rushing up and having them start most of them together could be challenging.
7. Add veggies to your sauces. Sauces used in different meats/pastas can be used vegetables based.
8. Try different veggies with spices if you dislike bland veggies. Some great herbs and Indian spices can make the taste incredible.
9. Include a green salad in your diet everyday. Use cucumber, tomato, green pepper, cabbage and use your favorite salad dressing over it.
10. Incorporate veggies as a regular diet with an infant. When an infant start with solid food, give one vegetable serving everyday.
11. Order a veggie pizza if you are a pizza lover or a nice chicken pizza with vegetables tastes really good.
12. Shred carrots over meat loaf, breads and muffins.
13. Try grilled vegetables. Use veggies when you have a plan for bar-be-que on a beautiful summer day.
14. Some vegetables taste really good with dressings. Try broccoli and celery which is a rich diet.
15. Last but not the least; allow your children to choose new veggies every time you go out for shopping. It will not only develop their interest in shopping but also in eating fresh vegetables.
One can have some diffculty in starting to have vegetables in the beginning but with determination and trying out the above, you can definitely involve it in your regular diet.
The best thing would be have your babies/child introduce the veggies in their regular meal once they start with their solid foods.
