In these difficult economic times, we need inexpensive gifts for Father's Day. Planning a special Father's Day gift for Dad does not mean you have to spend a lot of money. In fact, sometimes the most inexpensive gifts are the most fun gifts to receive. If you're unsure about what to do for Dad this Father's Day perhaps it's time to think "outside the box". Stop wondering which store to purchase a last minute gift certificate or appropriate gift. Instead, try these inexpensive Father's Day gift ideas:
Special Dinner - Dad's all love to eat! Make plans to make his favorite meal for him. Whether this means a wonderful roast or hot dogs and beans, Dad will be delighted you took the time out to make his favorite meal. What better way to thank Dad for all he does than making his favorite meal on Father's Day (or any other day).
Errands and chores - Offer to run errands for dad. Whether that means heading to the hardware store, the garden center or the home improvement center, offer to take this task off his hands. Make sure you get a thorough list of what he wants first! Dad will enjoy this Father's Day gift as it means one thing he will not have to do himself. Dad might have some chores around the house he has put off doing. This might be something as simple as hammering down the nails on the porch or deck after a wet Spring and cold Winter. Do this chore for him so he does not have to worry about it. What could make a better Father's Day gift than having that put off chore crossed off the "honey-do" list! Offer to do the mowing, weeding and fertilizing for Dad. This is an inexpensive and easy Father's Day gift.
Charitable Donations - Does your dad have a favorite charity? Sometimes it may seem like trying to find the right gift means no buying anything at all. Donate money to your dad's favorite charity in his name. Consider a micro-loan through Kiva where he can select where the money goes. This is a unique gift and one that can be utilized over and over again. Dad has the opportunity to re-lend the money that you provide him repeatedly and always knowing the he is helping someone get on their feet. What could be a better, lasting gift for Father's Day?
Summary
All of these gifts are thoughtful and inexpensive. You can even create a special gift certificate on your home computer as a way to present your special, inexpensive Father's Day gift to Dad on his special day.
